Tavs is the creative technology director in the Berlin office of Fjord. He got into this field out of frustration over how IT projects are commonly run. His career began in the early days of programming and Java Script as part of an international group of people who were interested in pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Since then he’s owned his own company in Denmark, and has lived in Germany since 2010.
He favors a pragmatic approach to problem solving in that a less-than-ideal solution to a problem is often better than no solution. If the momentum of a project depends on having a solution in place, it’s always better to move forward, and circle back once a better solution can be found.
His goal is to fix software production on a global scale. He wants to change people’s minds about software, and make people more generally aware of the nature of software, how it’s produced, and how it’s sold. He believes in honesty, transparency, and integrity all aspects of development, that you should set goals you believe in, and not oversell products you aren’t capable of.
